Delicious and super pretty cake made by the amazing  Maaria

The weekend before the lockdown, my cousin got married. Lucky really as any later the wedding would have been cancelled for sure. We were worried already that there was a chance the wedding would be cancelled but alhamdulillah, it all went ahead as planned. Thinking back now, it feels like it was such a long time ago, when times were different and we took things such as the simple freedoms for granted.

Speaking of which, I hope you and your loved ones are healthy and safe!

Anyway, back to the wedding. It was beautiful. It was held at this super pretty location - any bride would dream of her wedding there! It was both beautiful and picturesque, with stunning views of a deer park and the countryside. *sigh*

Before the wedding, I decided to contact a blogger I had been following for a while on Instagram as I saw she did makeup. I did and thankfully she said she was available. I was lucky enough to secure my booking with her as I was cutting it fine - I had been so busy with work and packing for the wedding that I hadn't managed to sort this out earlier. Anyway, enough babbling, take a look at her work for yourself!

Zarrin herself was so lovely and patient, she listened to what I wanted and wasn't put off by my daughters reluctance to leave us alone at times. She was timely, really well prepared and most importantly, she actually listened to what I wanted. I’ve had a make up artist in the past that didn’t and I still feel sad looking back at those photos! Zarrin was friendly and she wasn’t at all bothered by the busy house and disruptions that happened because of it. My makeup stayed put for the whole day so so many people gave lovely compliments! I highly recommend that you contact her if you're looking for a makeup or hijab stylist for any occasion!!
