Inspired By Random: Book Titles

Hello! So this is my second post in the link up I talked about here. This post is in no way related to the book and is not a book review. :) Have you done yours? Link your post so we can all read it!

Before I start, the title I'm using next week is: The Sweet Smell of Decay by Paul Lawrence

(original book by Mike Thomas)

I've been driving this bus for sixteen years. My oldest was three and my youngest was yet to arrive! It’s gone so fast but I remember my first day like it was yesterday. See, I have a baby face and when I first started driving the public, many people were very confused. ‘Aren't you too young to drive?!’ – something I heard on a regular basis and to this day I still can’t figure out if I should be flattered or offended!

Anyway, my bus and I have had some brilliant, and not so brilliant, times. We've helped deliver babies (yes, pregnant women have gone into labour on my bus a few times), taken children to their new schools in their brand-gleaming-new uniforms. Older women have flirted with me!! That’s right, I seem to attract older women and it still annoys my wife. My bus has seen the back of many handbags and I’m sure there are more to come. We've been insulted and shouted at, all sorts really!

The best thing my bus and I have done together was to deliver a groom and his wedding party to his bride. You should have seen it, it was beautiful! I was there driving along as usual when, at the next stop, I was greeted my some very smartly dressed people and a slightly panicked groom. Had I been the minutes late, the bride would have been one unhappy bunny! Their transport had broken down but luckily for them, my bus route was perfect – I stopped right outside the place they wanted to go to.

And my bus and I made the papers that day – ‘bus driver saves wedding’. That’s right, we hit the headlines.

Me and my beautiful, ugly bus.
